01

Walking · simplest for a compact day

For the shortest calls, compact Old Town, the waterfront and northern Duval, walking is often simplest. There is no rental pickup or return overhead. Heat, uneven surfaces and the return distance still count; turn around early if the walk out already feels like enough.

02

Bicycle · for confident riders

Bicycles suit confident, active riders who want less walking, quicker transitions or more flexibility, including on shorter visits. They can also support moderate range. A bike-only rental option is directly on Pier B; Bone Island Rentals also offers bicycles. Check in first at 424 Greene Street, Key West. Confirm the bicycle collection location and handover process with the operator; the golf-cart pickup process does not establish bicycle collection. Confirm bicycle-specific handover and fit before choosing. Include fitting, locking and handover time. This is street riding, not a continuous protected cycle route: dismount in crowds and choose a route comfortable for every rider.

Golf cart · reduce the longer walks

A cart can improve group comfort, reduce walking or add flexibility on a compact day, including a shorter visit. It can also support plans beyond the walking core. Bone Island Rentals is the closest golf-cart rental to Pier B. Check in first at 424 Greene Street, Key West. For golf carts, staff guide you after check-in across the street to pickup at 112 Fitzpatrick Street. The walk to check-in is about 4 minutes, 0.2 mile via Greene Street. Scooter · only if it already suits you

Scooters are for experienced riders, not beginners. Bone Island Rentals is the closest scooter rental to Pier B. Check in first at 424 Greene Street, Key West. Confirm the scooter collection location and handover process with the operator; the golf-cart pickup process does not establish scooter collection. 06

Taxi, transit or a sightseeing tour

A taxi can reduce a longer walk, but availability and waiting time are not guaranteed. For transit, check the current official service and stop information. For a sightseeing tour, confirm its departure point, duration and how you return to the pier. Never rely on a last-minute ride to meet all-aboard.

07

Traveling with children or limited mobility

Plan around the least comfortable person in the group. Before choosing a rental or attraction, ask about steps, transfer requirements, equipment dimensions and storage, and the walk from parking or drop-off. Confirm child seating and restraint arrangements with the operator; do not assume a cart is wheelchair accessible or a bicycle setup fits every child. Keep a seated break and room to shorten the outing. Nearby does not mean step-free, and reducing walking can still leave transfers to manage.
