01
Before you leave the waterfront
Before leaving, confirm all-aboard, the ship’s clock and what you need to re-enter. Photograph the signed cruise entrance and save your ship’s contact details. Opal Key is the waterfront landmark beside Pier B; its hotel or marina reception is not a substitute for your assigned cruise gate.
02
Reach Front Street, then choose a direction
Follow the crew-directed passenger exit to public streets. Front and Whitehead are useful Old Town reference points: Mallory Square is to the north, Duval is inland to the east, and the Hemingway Home is south on Whitehead. The precise open exit and gate approach still need a local check; follow signs over this overview.

Walk first, rent for a reason
Walking is often simplest for a compact Old Town visit. A bicycle or golf cart can also improve comfort or reduce walking on a short call. Choose for your group and route, not a minimum number of hours. Include getting to the rental shop, collection, parking and return; shorten sightseeing if needed and keep the ship buffer.

The park needs its own approach
Fort Zachary Taylor’s address is 601 Howard England Way. The visitor directions use Southard Street through Truman Annex, then a left turn at the end toward the signed park entrance. Do not follow a straight line down the waterfront or enter restricted Navy property. The Little White House is a separate stop at 111 Front Street.

Check today’s street works
The city lists the Southernmost Point plaza project around South and Whitehead streets for a mid-September 2026 start. Greene, Elizabeth and Caroline work is anticipated from October 2026. Schedules and access can change: our core plans omit Southernmost Point and use signed public routes.

Save the way back before you go
Return to the cruise entrance you were shown, not simply any waterfront. Pier access may be controlled; port and ship staff give the final directions. Follow signed public routes and avoid shortcuts through restricted property.
